Getting Started

Wherever you are, it’s the perfect place to get started. Luckily, it only takes 3 steps to begin this journey and start enjoying your control on your payments using the power YaYa Wallet creates for you. 1. Download our Mobile Application The YaYa Wallet app is your point of access into our ecosystem where you manage your finances by connecting with your family and businesses to make/receive payments. - Android: Get it on Google Play - iOS: Download on the App Store 2. Request An Invitation / Use Fayda ID While everyone is invited to use YaYa Wallet, we just want to make sure you’re a sentient creature and not a robot. That’s why we implemented a trust model by asking people to request an invitation from existing users. Existing YaYa Wallet users can send you an invitation directly from YaYa Wallet mobile application using your mobile phone number. The invitation code can be shared to you in a form of a link or a QR code. If a link, it will automatically opens in YaYa Wallet app and lets you finish the registration. If a QR code, use the Claim invite code option from the welcome screen to scan it using the app. Alternatively, if you have the Fayda National ID, you can register without an invitation straightforward. Select the National ID option to do so. 3. Register That’s it! You’re in! Get ready to transact! There’s a whole support team here to help you on this journey.

When you create an invitation, you are provided with a static invite link and a QR code, which you can send to your friend/family via email, WhatsApp or Telegram.

Account Recovery & Guardians

If you lose your phone or it’s stolen, or if you forgot your password, you could recover your wallet on a new or current phone by asking your Guardians to approve the recovery. Guardians are people (e.g. friends or family with the YaYa Wallet App) you already trust to give them permission to help with approving your account recovery. You can add or remove them at the tap of a button on your app. At least three of your nominated Account Guardians must have accepted your request to protect your account with Guardians. Then, all that is left is to activate them, and they will be able to help you recover your account when you need. You’re always in control and can easily add or remove a Guardian at any time but you always need a minimum of 3 guardians to secure your account recovery. In order to reset your password, for 3 guardians we need 2/3 signatures. If you have 4 or 5 guardians, we need 3+ signatures. For extra security, recovery is only activated after 24 hours of approval by your guardians. During those 24 hours you can ask Guardians to cancel the recovery process (for instance if you find your phone).

User Registration Guide

YaYa Wallet is a digital wallet service provider that allows users to store, manage, and transact with their funds using a mobile device. With YaYa Wallet, users can make payments, transfer money, pay bills, and perform other financial transactions conveniently and securely. To get started with YaYa Wallet, please follow these steps: YaYa Wallet USSD (957) User Registration Guide There are two options for registering as a new user in YaYa Wallet: using invitation URL or using your National ID. Let's explore how to register using the invitation URL. N.B: The following menu will be displayed if your phone number is not already registered. 1. User Registration via Invitation URL: Please follow these steps: - Copy the invitation link provided in the SMS - Dial *957# - Select 1 => “I’ve invitation URL” - Enter the invitation URL in the space provided. = > By pasting the link you copied. - Enter your “Full Name” in the space provided. - Enter your “Email Address” in the space provided. - Enter your “ Address” in the space provided. e.g. Addis Ababa, Saris, Bole etc. - Create your PIN => The PIN you entered has been sent to your SMS inbox. Remember, the PIN should be a 4-digit number and non-sequential. - Repeat the new PIN => Please enter the provided 4-digit PIN again to complete the registration process. - Registration Done => Finally, your registration is completed and the following message is displayed “Congratulations, registration is completed!!”. 2. User Registration via National ID: The steps used for User Registration via National ID will be shared soon. Stay tuned! YaYa Wallet Mobile Application User Registration Guide The YaYa Wallet mobile app offers a secure and convenient way to manage finances and conduct transactions on the go. To get started, users must complete a registration process. This guide outlines the steps to create your account and access features like payments, transfers, and other financial services. Refer to official documentation or contact support for assistance. Let's begin: N.B: Obtain an invitation link or download the app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone). Below are the steps for user registration in the YaYa Wallet mobile application, accompanied by detailed instructions and images: Download and Install the YaYa Wallet App: Visit your device's app store (e.g., Google Play Store for Android or the App Store for iOS) and download the 'YaYa Wallet' app. If you have an invitation link provided by SMS, you can open the link and go to Step 2. Step 1: Click on ‘Claim invite code’ and scan the invitation QR Code Or, Click on ‘National ID’ and enter your National ID FIN/FCN Step 2: Verify Phone => You will receive a six-digit verification code via SMS. Enter it in the provided space. Step 3: Enter personal details => Full name, Email address and residential address. N.B: If you start the registration process using National ID, skip this step since your personal details will be synced from your National ID. Account Recovery Guide

User account recovery in wallet services is the process of regaining access to an account when login credentials are forgotten or inaccessible. It's vital to regain control over their funds and resume using the wallet service. 1. Account Recovery Using Email - Click on the ‘’Recover’’ icon. - Enter your “User Name’’ in the space provided. - Confirm the correctness of your username. - Provide your ‘’email’’ in the designated space. An email containing the link to reset your password will be sent. - Check your email for the password reset link and follow the instructions to set a new password. After entering your pin code, you have successfully recovered your YaYa wallet account. Please refer to the screenshots below for more information: 1. 2. 3. N.B: For any difficulties or if the steps don't comply with your app version, refer to official documentation or contact customer support for tailored assistance. 2. Account recovery using Guardian User account recovery using guardians involves trusted individuals, known as guardians, who assist a user in regaining access to his/her account in case of forgotten password or other login issues. The general overview of how it works: 1. Setting Up Guardians: During account setup or management, a user can designate guardians by using their account information (like username or phone number). 2. Guardian Confirmation: Guardians receive a request from the service for their role and they may confirm and accept the request. 3. Account Recovery Initiation: If users forget their login details or face access issues, they can start the account recovery process. The service typically allows requesting help from designated guardians. 4. Guardian Verification: This service uses designated guardians for identity verification, ensuring only trusted participants. They may need to provide personal info or follow specific procedures. 5. Guardian Collaboration: Once guardians verify their identities, they may perform actions or provide information to assist in account recovery, such as sharing recovery codes or confirming user details. 6. Account Recovery Completion: After guardians fulfill their roles, the service assesses the information. If it meets requirements, account recovery is facilitated, granting access to the user's account. To setup and activate your guardians, please follow these steps: Step 1. Click on Profile Step 2.
